You can also use just vitamin C powder, but I'm sorry I don't recall the amount to use to get it acid enough. Moria
Guest guest
We had DMSA compounded into liquid form by a compounding pharmacist for the same reason, our son does not take capsules. I was told that in liquid, DMSA has a shelf life of 3 days and it shouldn't matter whether you keep it cold or not. > On Friday I am starting the DMSA with my boys. > > However, they don't swallow pills/capsules so I give all their > supplements with an oral syringe. > > I was reading in the files section about mixing the DMSA with a > liquid ahead of time and storing it in the fridge. What is the pH of the solution? This does matter. Do they have any testing to show it is good after 3 days? I ask this seriously, and I would very much like to know the answer. If you get any real information on the degree of stability, I would like to update the DMSA file with this information. It may be that they do not know or are wrong, and then again it may be that they have tested and know the level of deterioration is minimal. Guest guest
Moria, There were quite a few calls made to different sources. I could go back and track down what we found. He was mixing DMSA with some natural sweetener (didn't make it very sweet-smelling but didn't cause yeast problems either). We tested urine toxic elements periodically during the treatment and those tests told us that the stuff worked. > > We had DMSA compounded into liquid form by a compounding > pharmacist > > for the same reason, our son does not take capsules. Guest guest
You could divide it and put it back into capsules. It would be easy then to tip just one dose into whatever liquid you want at the time without ever having to store it in the liquid. Dagmar. [ ] mixing DMSA with water in an oral syringe On Friday I am starting the DMSA with my boys. However, they don't swallow pills/capsules so I give all their supplements with an oral syringe. I was reading in the files section about mixing the DMSA with a liquid ahead of time and storing it in the fridge. This will make the night time doses much easier, but if I mix it with water and put it in the fridge will it stay stable? I read that it's best to mix it with an acidic beverage, but my 4 yr. old is allergic to oranges so I try to stay away from citrus things. Thanks, =======================================================
