Guest guest
Hi Laurie, This is definitely the biggest decision you will ever make but the key is you have to do it for YOURSELF and no one else! It is a life long change, not a quick fix (although I'm sure you already realize this) and if your whole self isn't truely in it, you can still fail. Don't get me wrong, this was the best decision I've ever made in my life, but I also know it has to be done for the right reasons and only YOU can decide what is right for you. I " m sorry to hear all your mom is worried about is how you look. It's sad she can't see you are already beautiful (which I'm sure you are) One thing I've learned from this is that beauty comes also from the inside as well as the out. If you are happy and love yourself the way you are there is no reason to change your entire life. Just make sure you think about everything before rushing in, the good as well as the bad. Best of luck and if you would like to talk, please feel free to contact me anytime! *Hugs* Open RNY 1/12/05 310/150/
Guest guest
Hi thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. I saw your numbers underneath your name and I'm assuming that is where you started where you are now and where you want to be. That is incredible! Would you mind walking me through your experience. Like when did you lose the biggest amount of your weight. What were the first six months like. What do you eat on a typical day now. Is there still food you can't eat or do you eat pretty much what you want to within reason and anything else you may think would be valuable for me to know. I would appreciate it so much. Thanks, Laurie Re: mixed emotions Hi Laurie, This is definitely the biggest decision you will ever make but the key is you have to do it for YOURSELF and no one else! Guest guest
, I'm glad that I could help. I do hope that my friend comes around, but even if she doesn't, I know that this was the right decision for me and my health. Please let me know if there is anything that I can help you with on your journey. They do make the journey to WLS complicated and hard at times, but like you said, that is what is making you stronger! Good luck. xoxo, S. in NJ
Guest guest
I'm so sorry your family is at odds with this Laurie!! That is hard. My husband also told me that it was up to me, my kids were too young (6 and 18 mo) to understand what was happening and my parents were freaked. My Dad offered to pay for counseling with an eating specialist and told me I was going to mutilate my body and I was setting myself up for future health problems. Now 2 years and 2 months out they could not be happier that I did this. Hang in there I know the emotions mess with our heads. If you need more support please come post. If you don't get an answer right away please repost your question in a few days. Hugs!!! > > Hi everyone I just joined this group.
