Guest guest
It will be hard for the teacher to understand the diet completely. So keep it simple at first. Talk to her about what the diet has done for him and stress the fact that this diet must be 100%. Any slip ups (even one bite) could cause him to get sick or have behavioral changes. It is important that she understand that only the food that you send is OK. Some of the food you send may look just like what the school serves but it is not. Discuss any changes she may need to make to insure he stay gluten and casein free. She may need to change the setting arrangement at the lunch table or give him extra supervision. Some school supplies have gluten in them, play dough, glue and finger paint are just a few. I would ask for an ARC meeting as soon as possible to discuss just what it is going to take to prevent any slip ups at school. Have written in the IEP any changes needed. from Kentucky (Zack's Mom)
