Guest guest
One more link on why to use saliva testing..by a company that sell them of course You gotta start your “research” somewhere right? Guest guest
Hello Sue, Thank you for the posts. When I get everybody tucked into bed tonight, I will spend time reading the websites you've provide. Yes, you do have to start " somewhere. " ;-) I'm naturally somewhat leary. Naturally a site selling something is going to to tell you how great their " product " is and no, it doesn't mean that it isn't and/or that they don't believe in it. In research (when I have the time) I try to search out those who offer an opinion, who have nothing to lose or gain from it. I do look at all sides, though. The naturally curious person that I am. lol ~Kate > > One more link on why to use saliva testing..by a company that sell them of > course > You gotta start your ³research² somewhere right? > > Sue > > http://www.redlinepharmacy.com/html/saliva_test_faq.html >
Guest guest
Hi Kate, We do all have to start somewhere When I did not get results – from a doctor with my blood labwork, I went elsehwere. I knew something was “off” and would find it on my own if I have to, thus the existence of these labs to begin with. Dr. Lee is not a lab owner/operator – but a doctor and researcher and writer — check out his books on Amazon.com if you get a chance, he is my “hormone guru.” I don’t use saliva and then discount blood, I used it as a 2nd and even third, since I also get hair testing done, to verify or further investigate findings since no one test can tell us much, and is usually just the start of a very long journey... Guest guest
I quickly checked out his books on Amazon. They do look to be good books. I will definitely spend time reading what he has to say about everything hormonal. My doctor wanted to put me on Progesterone for 10 days, for 3 months in hopes to get my menstrual cycle on track. ~Kate > > > > > > > > > > > Hello Sue, > > > > Thank you for the posts. Guest guest
Read up on Progesterone creams — and pick one Dr. Lee recommends would be my suggestion - -there’s SO MUCH hormonal stuff out there. I use a cream now that I am pre-menapausal for severe PMS, headaches, bloating, etc... My blood work showed my hormones to be “normal” but I can tell something is wrong by the way it feels... Yucky! Sue I quickly checked out his books on Amazon. They do look to be good books. I will definitely spend time reading what he has to say about everything hormonal. They then report back to the company that ordered the tests what the results were (HealthCheck in this case). My local hospital is a LabOne site, and just happens to be one of the ones listed on the HealthCheck site. The lab simply carries out the orders presented to them, and yes, there is a doctor listed on the HealthCheck form, Seifert, to be exact. Guest guest
I just emailed them with a question. I see they have a lab in Sitka (hospital) but my town isn't listed. I've been assuming that there must be a contract made between the lab and HealthCheck. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm curious if I could order their test, have our lab draw the blood and then, of course, get the result back from HealthCheck. I assume that the individual lab must be given some money for performing the draw. Where money is involved, so must be some contract. Until this forum, I have never heard anything like it. Hence, my total ignorance on the subject. ~Kate > > > I'm thinking about asking our lab technician these questions as well > > as seeing if they'd consider HealthCheck and if not, why not: I think > > it's a great idea! > > Living in a small town, I feel comfortable with asking our lab > > technician and expect that she'd be honest. > > Curious as to what she'll say. Guest guest
I had been working in health care for quite some time, too, Kate, and didn't know it either until I got with these groups a few yrs ago. It opened up worlds to me, and if it weren't for HealthCheck, I'd still be under treated by local docs or possibly dead anyway. Yes, I'm sure that they pay the lab a fee for processing whatever needs to be. Re: Saliva v. Blood Tests >I just emailed them with a question. Guest guest
I just purchased some Progesterone cream from Puritan's Pride. If you don't mind my asking, how old are you? I'm 34. I definately have hormonal problems...don't need any labs to tell me that or differently! lol Last year, I missed 2 periods. This year, my cycles have become shorter and menses, shorter. From 7 to 3 days. In those few days, I have had heavy flow and lately, light flow. I usually have night sweats just prior to my period and first few days once I begin. I've had hot flashes and flushing. My face is getting redder. For the most part of this year, I developed a dry, course face. A few months ago...it started becoming oily again and then...drying again. Hormonal problems... " Yucky " ...I'll say! lol ~Kate > > > > > > > > > > > I quickly checked out his books on Amazon. Guest guest
I can wear cotton clothes, although I am thinking of switching to silks, wools, etc. because the little fibers are what do it to me. They cause an inflammatory reaction. Usually it only happens when it's dirty or dusty. Visited a textile mill museum once, BIG mistake LOL. My doc said my cycles were normal and that everything looked okay. I have noted that since using the Diva Cup (made of silicone - hypo allergenic & can last for years.. I swear, best invention for female care EVER! LOL) I have had 99% less yeast infections. I used to have them oh 1-2 times per month. Now, maybe once in a blue moon. I'm going to be starting a new health care/gym routine. My only rule is, I must break a sweat at least 3 times a week, doesn't matter how. I figure, if McConaughey can do it daily and that's his only exercise rule, it might just work for me too LOL! Slowly working up to it of course. Say, where's Topper?? Ohhhhh Toooooooop??? Re: Saliva v. Blood Tests Yes, I did lose quite abit of weight. Though am thinking the problem was there prior, due to missing periods last year. Oh...21 day cycles...way too short! lol However, the shorter periods are nice. ;-DMine went from about 40 day cycle to 28-30 day cycle. Most woman's normal. All my babies followed my cycle: 2 weeks "late." That's a real bummer about cotton! It's such a good fabric! It must really suck canal water that you can't wear/use cotton. =-/~Kate> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I quickly checked out his books on Amazon. They do look to be good> > > books.
