Once again I accidentally deleted my post and have to re-write it.

Aargghh!.

Thank you Roma!

<low thyroid (hypothyroidism)> I'd been thinking along the same

lines, but stupidly made my appointment for a busy monday

morning. I asked questions about the fibroids and operation

which got the answer 'I don't know' because clearly no info had

been passed from hospital and surgeon back to the GP. In

contrast, when I ask questions on fibroid forums (On this topic,

here & Smartgroups UK ) I get a wealth of information based on

very informed reading up and first hand experience. The forums

rock! You could say that we all have DIY as a hobby.

<One of my best friends had this as one of her only hypo

symptoms.>

I would love to know more about this.

< it's possible you might have BOTH iron deficiency anemia and

> hypothyroidism.>

Reactive Hypoglaecemia was another thought I had. I am and

'couldn't care less' about anything except getting warm, rather

than behaving oddly. I don't think Raynauds is a convincing

match.

One of my fiends rarely has the heating on in their cold house as

he's hyperthyroid, it turns out. I freeze there!

<Make sure you get the proper diagnostic tests for both.>

Doctors may hate my question lists, but I am still going to ask

them. Better that than worrying ourselves sick on something they

can inform and reassure us about.

< And speaking of chills......that story about the OTHER Catriona

Bass in the UK hospital sent chills up MY spine!!!!! Blimey!!>

I don't want anyone who has an operation in the near or distant

future worrying about these kinds of horror stories. It's most likely

that your local hospital will be just fine, even if such as story as

this has been in the papers. When talking to local friends and

relatives they'll tell you that they went to place X and they didn't

have any problems. That's not to deny these things go on or that

the NHS is in crisis. I expect everyone knows of a friend or

relative who had a bad experience, less than perfect care or bad

advice.

On the other hand, if they warn you of a particular surgeon and

an operation that changed from something minor to something

major, due to incompetence, then don't have them!!

Apart from the initial recovery after surgery, we're in pretty safe

category, since we're with it and reasonably mobile, so we can

walk around our bed or up a corridor, have visitors and query

anything worrying.

< Oh --but I must admit your allusion to " Kidnapped " and the

ladder went right over my head--can you refresh my recollection

of a book I read..oh...about 35 years ago?!!!!!>

Louis son's 'Kidnapped' and sequel 'Catriona'

follow the adventures of Balfour following the ite

Rebellion of 1745.

I did a search of Kidnapped Balfour Catriona and two of
