Guest guest
Thank you very much! so - now, I know that I can tell my doctor - down the road - that I am treating myself with over the counter Nutri Meds! <wink> I was really getting confused with what they all were - when different people referred to what they were taking - This really helps me! and the links are great too!!! Cris Re: different forms? Here are some different forms of natural thyroid that I know about: Naturethroid Westhroid Thyroid-S generic from Sipsrit (not sure about spelling) Generic natural thyroid from Time-Cap labs in NY Biothroid (I think this one is no longer available) There are probably more. The over-the-counter ones that I know of are: Nutri+meds porcine and bovine thyroid extracts. I have used their bovine very successfully and think each tablet is about 1/4 grain in potency, but have no way of knowing for sure. Many people in the US use Nutri+meds to treat their hypothyroidism. Thytrophin PMG thyroid extract. It is said to have all thyroxine (T4) removed. I have read one article by a doctor condemning it because it still has T3 in it. Another article claims that it is 1 grain potency. I've tried it and it does indeed have metabolic raising capacity. This article talks about using Thytrophin PMG http://askwaltstollmd.com/archives/cliffs/35410.html This article I think claims that it is one grain potency: http://www.newswithviews.com/Howenstine/james5.htm Peatfield mentions some European glandulars in this article, but I have never been able to find them for sale anywhere: http://www.fudgedesign.co.uk/tuk/treat/glandulars.htm There are other glandulars out there and there is no way to easily find their doses. The manufacturers cannot tell you or they will loose their supplement status. If youd did know the dose, then there is difficulty in knowing if the company makes extra efforts to standardize them from batch to batch. http://www.truefoodsmarket.com/81585.html Tish
