Guest guest
, Write to Dr Ponseti and ask if he thinks the shoes would be helpful to Grace. There are actually only 2 kinds - Markell redesigned the " old " kind and now the old style is not available. then there are the shoes which are completely different from the Markell shoes. Check it out a photo of it here: http://www.mdorthopaedics.org Angel > Apparently there are 3 types of shoes being used now? Is that > correct? Guest guest
There's a pic of the new style shoes on the CFPics photos section under *shoes* and I think I put the same pics here. but I don't remember for sure. If you don't find them here under Darbi or Shoes go to CFPics and they're there. The expanded heel pocket combined with the extra padding at the ankle is supposed to mimic what the plastizode insert does for the old shoes. So in theory, the plastizode isn't needed. Some are still putting it in, we don't use it and have been happy without it. the pics explain it much better, check them out. If you need to sub to the CFPics list let me know and I'll approve you before you send the form (which is our requirement for approval because it's a list designed to allow attachments so we can send pics of our babies - and no pervs allowed! hehe). Anyway, I'll approve you and you can send your form later. I know you're cool :~} Kori here's the link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CFPics/ At 05:54 PM 5/15/2004, you wrote: >Apparently there are 3 types of shoes being used now? Is that >correct? Guest guest
Hi, ! So nice to hear from you! I saw your question about new shoes, and am not sure if you got the info you needed yet.. haven't read all the posts.. but thought you might be interested to see a flyer put out by Markell, with a size chart which you can print out. It includes directions for measuring, to see what size is needed. Claire recently got a new pair, ordered from the orthotics shop in Iowa, paid for over the phone with a credit card. You could also do it that way, since Grace was a patient there. Just tell them the size she needs and they'll mail it to you. You'll automatically get the newest style Markell shoe, which is just a 'new and improved' version of the old one. The tongue is padded, the holes for the laces are easier to use, there's extra padding around the heel. Here's the link to the flyer.. http://www.markellshoe.com/ponsetiflyer.pdf Hope this helps. Amazing Grace is almost 3! Wow! So great to hear she's doing well.. and hope all is well for your whole family.. Take care, and Claire (almost 4) > Apparently there are 3 types of shoes being used now? Is that > correct?
