Guest guest
I am having a NEW thing this week. My darn toes are going to sleep! Not numb, I wish they were.. But the tingly sensation. Is there such a thing as carpal Tunnel in the feet? This is never my big toe, usually the 3rd & 4th toes on either or both feet. I have had this off & on before but never where it stayed for a week like this seems to be every evening. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? Guest guest
Yes, it is called Tarsal Tunnel, which is the same thing as in the wrists, only it is in the ankles. However, there is a more pinpointed condition concerning the messed up mechanics of a foot that has suffered from " flat foot " , though the foot isn't actually flat. Sometimes hammer toes, or claw toes, as they're sometimes called, can be a result of the bad foot mechanics, and sometimes a neuroma can form under or on the two toes you're talking about, especialy those two. Bone spurs at the base of these two toes are sometimes responsible for this. We weren't really meant to walk on the undersides of our toes, but that big stretched out ligament that connects the toes with the heel bones is at the bottom of ALL those problems. They usually happen in a stepwise fashion, over time. I had the " fallen arch " first, then the two little toes became " hammered " , as a result of bone spurs in or on them, then the tingling feelings in and under them, as a result of walking on them the wrong way. The way we walk has nothing to do with it, it is the stretched out arch that connects all of it. I believe that hypothyroidism is at the bottom of all of it. I actually need a surgery on both feet, one to tighten the arch, and one to shear off bone from those two outer toes, then reset the position of them.
