Guest guest
Hi , We also did not need a specialist to write the prescription....our pediatrician did it. However, I too was feeling pretty guilty because our pediatrician did not seem to think it was a very big deal that his head was " flat " on the right rear portion. Thank God my friend is a pediatric physical therapist and she recommended CT. Our ped was like, " Well, just reposition him and that should take care of it. If you guys decide you want to get him fitted for a band, let me know and I'll write a prescription for it. " I love our pediatrician but was a little confused as to why she wasn't worried about his head. We noticed the flat spot when he was 6 weeks old and tried repositioning him until he was 5 months old. That did not even begin to take care of the problem, and we were diligent about the repositioning! CT categorized him as severe. So, we were feeling bad about not getting him banded sooner, but at least we did it. His was on for about 3 months and it made a world of difference! So, don't feel bad! You are doing something about it now and it's definitely not too late! > > > > > > > > > > My name is . My son, Nate, is 12 months old.
