Guest guest
I don't think my experience was exactly like yours but it was just as scary. When I went to renew my driver's license last year I sat for maybe an hour waiting to be called for the picture. I was sitting maybe 4 to 5 feet from the counter. My name was called and when I got up I left my cane with my friend thinking I would just hang onto the counter. Well, my right leg (the good one) gave out, just buckled 4 or 5 times. I managed to reach the counter but even then it didn't want to go. I could only imagine the thought going through the minds of all those people sitting behind me waiting to be called. Naturally that only added to the stress of the situation. Got my picture and my cane and my friend and somehow made it to the car. Whatever happened was very painful and that leg felt weak the rest of the day. I was afraid to trust it. By the next day all was normal and it hasn't happened again. Last night I got up to go to the bathroom and about three steps in that direction a pain (I would say neurological) ripped through my right knee that would have put me on the floor had I not had the walker. Gone in a couple of seconds. Then when I went to sit down it struck again. It was horrible but again was gone very quickly. I rubbed the knee as I sat wondering what was going o happen when I tried to get up. All was fine and has been ever since. I think it might have been a pinched nerve from the way I was sleeping. I know my legs do not move at all when I am asleep so as aggravating as it is to wake up and have to get up I know it's a good thing to get the legs moving ever so often throughout the night. Not much help for you unless you consider that we all have these little odd experiences and you just have to learn not to panic as most times there are temporary and never return. I am reconciled to the fact that I am unique and so are you and everyone else. Just think of it as a special gift. Are we lucky, or what???
