Guest guest
Hello everyone, Well, I met my new Dr today. Don't know how long I will keep this one either!! LOL I did get the Armour Thyroid (60 mg). But, she was not very happy about giving it to me. Without saying or calling me this, I knew she was thinking that I was a real " B " . I was firm that's all. She told me that Dr's DO NOT like to be told by a patient what is wrong with them and how they should be treated, medically that is. I thought she was going to throw me out for a minute! LOL I thought I was keeping my cool, but oh well, I'm sick and tired of the run around and waste of my money on unnecessary testing!! Of coarse I heard the usual " We don't have control when we use Armour, bla bla bla! Can you believe that she thinks I am possibly heading towards Alzheimer's!!!! Are they so determined to try and scare the crap out of us??? So, let's see now, according to my last 2 Dr's, I have Alzheimer's, Osteoarthritis, Epstein Barr, CFS, Diabetes, and whatever else they might add in the future. Oh, sleep problems too. Come on, give me a break!! I can't wait to start my Armour!!!! I have to go back in 6 weeks for a TSH, only. According to her, that is all that is necessary! She just shook her head when I mentioned the Free T4 and T3 testing. Is it any wonder people are loosing trust in Dr's?? I know I sure have. I am confused about all this grain talk. Each tablet is 60 mg's. Should I take 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon? Or just take the whole pill in the morning like I was doing with my Synthroid? By the way, I didn't dare mention this group! That would not have went over to well. I could tell you a lot more of what she said, but it is late. I'm tired and looking forward to an Armour tomorrow!! :-)) Oh, the cost, only $12.99. No wonder they want us all on Synthroid! They make more money! Thanks everyone!! Guest guest
& Cindi, I'm afraid it is going to be to stressful to remember to take it twice a day and also to space my Vitamins between the Armour, so I might have to take the whole pill of Armour in the mornings and see how it goes from there. I hate pills as it is! If I find that I am tired later on, I can try 1/2 mornings and afternoons. I hope the 60 mg will be enough because I doubt that I could get her to up it! I started with 1/2 in the morning...but starting with 1 grain (60 mg.) is okay. Or you could start with 1/2 and then in 10 days to 14 days, up it to the full grain. Some folks may tell you to go ahead and split the dose. And that's okay. But the thyroid gland does normally release its thyroid hormone in the morning...and for me, getting enough in the morning for my body was essential. Guest guest
Honest, she asked me if I had ever had some kind of test, and I ask her what it was and she said it is to see if you have Alzheimer's! She then told me that I have the symptoms!! If I had not already been upset with her, I would have busted out laughing!!!!!! That would have went over well!! LOL Anyway, in this book that I have, The Thyroid Source For Women, under Poor Memory and Concentration, it says that one of the most common causes of so-called " senility " was undiagnosed hypothyroidism. (So before you shout " Alzheimer's, " get a thyroid function test for the loved one who you suspect is " losing it. " ) Personally, I think these Doctors are " LOOSING IT " !!!!!!
