Guest guest
Marsha, My opinion is that you should consider watching and waiting. The heat from the wire loop that was used to do the resection should have cauterized blood vessels feeding the part of the fibroid that remains. Over time, the fibroid may continue to shrink and may go away entirely. I have seen this a few times with my own patients. You might consider getting a sonohysterogram (sonogram with fluid placed inside the uterus) in 3 months to see whether any of the fibroid remains. Hope this is of some help. Bill , MD resection question I had a hystereoscopic rescection (myo) yesterday for a submucosal fibroid and the doc said he didn't get it all. He had to quit early because I was taking in too much fluid. He has me on antibiotics in case of infection and he wants me to come in Monday for a sonogram to see what is still left in my uterus. He called me today to check on me and to see if I had any thought on whether I wanted to do a D & C next week to clean everything out or just watch it and wait. I think I will know more on Monday, but does anyone have any evperience with this? Thanks, Marsha H.
