Hi Pat,

Sorry I don't know what 'radio clearance' means................ However I

had to have a little smile that now we are starting to see issues to do with

which is the 'better' Resurface device............rather than comparisons

between THR and Resurface..........smile.

Glad to hear that you have your date set and best of luck with the

forthcoming operation........and yes because you are alone you would be well

advised to take the extra hospital stay........ also check on getting

yourself fed when you get home..........that was my biggest challenge living

alone..........

I suspect you mean " radial clearance " . This is basically the size of the

" gap " between the acetabular cup and the femoral head component when

the two components are put together. Getting this distance right is

very important for getting the best wear characteristics out of the

implant. As I understand it, the right distance allows the joint fluid

to form a

thick lubricating film between the two parts of the implant,

drastically reducing the friction and wear.
