I've added a few words (in italics) that Lipkin did not utter:

" The study's design allows scientists to " look during gestation, where

some of the roots (of autism) may appear, " Lipkin says. " If we can find

what puts kids at risk, we can develop interventions, " including

medications or behavior changes [and reducing the risk of iatrogenic

autism by returning to the policy of not vaccinating sick or recently

sick children and by proscribing injurious acts such as the injecting of

thimerosal or multiple live-viruses simultaneously.] "

Let's just hope and pray this is more honest and accurate than previous

" studies " .

NEW YORK - A major U.S.-financed study designed to unearth the roots of

autism will track 100,000 babies in Norway to identify biological and

environmental factors that could combine to cause autism and other

developmental disorders.

This is nothing short of just plain stupid.

On the following basis, this study should statiscally have no creedence.

1. Norwegians have a different genetic pool.

2. They eat differently... preferring less junk food.

3.They eat more fish. raw fish and LOTS and LOTS of it...( mercury-loaded or

Omega 3-loaded but it's still differs to the States in that the Norwegians

eat more of it)

4. Their vaccination schedules are different... if they adhere to them at

all.

5. They are breast-feeding adherents

6. It is a less sunnier climate ( less vitamin D)

7. Universal free access to health program ( whatever that might mean but

it still distinguishes itself from the States. ie better diagnostic

facilities)

8. Universal daycare system ( whatever that might mean but could mean less

stress)

9. Soil is different..maybe less or more selenium!!

10. And just maybe, the Norwegian government prefers not to use multi-dose

mercury laden vaccines! but single doses...

11. They spend more time in the fresh air...

12. They spend less time in front of the TVs and computers ( radiation?)

13. Overall shorter grower season..ie less access to Vitamin C in comparison

to say Italy!

And the list goes on.......I am sure I could think of more...

On a personal note, judging by the Norwegians I know, they usually refuse

antibiotics etc for themselves and for their children where and when they

can. Much like the Germans and other continental Europeans....

In all, this is a ridiculous statistical model to set up at all in terms of

comparing to the American model. Any statistician can see the inherent

problems a kilometer away! It's like comparing apples to oranges and such a

study is an insult to intelligence and a waste of public monies. Having

said that I am sure the Norwegian researchers are glad of any monies they

can get as their cost of living is horribly high. Just ask them what the

cost of tomatoes are!

If you want to complain to your senators about unwise dispersion of

tax-payers money, feel free to pass on this information.

in Germany

FWIW studied university level stats and passed a Christmas exam despite a

heater breakdown in -30 F degree weather.

It's not being done here because there is no large mother/child cohort

set up to do prospective research on as in Norway. The NIH is trying to

set one up here but by the time they get it off the ground we'll all be

dead. That doesn't mean that meaingful research couldn't be done here

in the US. Recall that MIND is doing an epi study on environmental

factors in autism which will include vaccine and thimerosal exposure.

The CDC has the VSD HMOs and if Congress is successful in opening the

dataset to independent researchers we might be able to get some honest

results. There are other possibilities. So, Norway is just one study and

even for this study it will take many years before any results come out.
