Guest guest
I know nothing about it... save that I know children are vaccinated against it (if they receive the typical rounds of shots). I would be very curious to learn more about it. Sorry I can't be of any help. Tippe <bctippe@...> wrote: I just found out that my 10yo ASD son has fifth's disease. Any thoughts.......? Guest guest
Hi , my son got 5th's disease about 2 years ago. The Ped. said let it takes it's course, keep him comfortable and hydrated, but do keep him home from school because it is contagious. It was not a problem, just inconvenient for about 4-5 days. HOWEVER, I contracted 5th's disease from my son and WOW, big difference between kids and adults. I felt like I had advanced rhumetoid arthritis, I could not even close my hand around a door knob to open a door. I was given 2 rounds of an antiviral alvicor??? something like that. But again, for my son, he just had the rash and a low grade fever. God bless and good luck. Tina > > I just found out that my 10yo ASD son has fifth's disease. Guest guest
My kids just had this...and so did I. It was an easy picnic for them. For me however, it was terrible and very painful. I was hurting for about two weeks with it. Its known to be worse for adults to have it. But the good news is once you get it, you shouldnt get it again. Overall I suppose, its no big deal to have it...its spread like any other cold is. Sal's mom
Guest guest
, You may have heard of it as erythema infectiosum or 'slapped cheek' disease. The term fifth disease refers back to the days when childhood exanthems were numbered, starting with measles. I can say as viruses go, it's fairly nice, she hasn't missed a beat, not even a low grade fever. Here's hoping it stays that way, thanks for your good wishes.
