Guest guest
FYI on the lactose: 6 months sounds a little soon to me to reintroduce lactose-containing dairy. It took my son a full 14 months to be able to tolerate dairy after going GF. Maureen > > > > We just figured out my daugter's reaction on Friday. Guest guest
I took dairy products away from my son for only two months after going GF. When they were re-introduced, he was fine. It obviously depends on the child.

Guest guest
I and one of my son's started having lactose problems at about 6 months gf, not before. For about 3 months it was nasty, but we found that using lactaid milk and munching a lactaid pill before ice cream and such works fine for us now. Neither of us react much at all to butter, but we don't use it very often, but most cheeses require one before eating. Have you tried the 100% lactose free milks? They're really not bad, a little sweeter than regular milk, but other than that, not much else different. I also use Canoleo Margarine for cooking and toast and such. >> Not that we were aware of, at the time....nor did his Dr. suspect lactose> intolerance OR Celiac.....I'm the one that figured it out. After going GF, I> realized he could no longer tolerate dairy; it gave him abdominal cramping> and diarrhea. Omitting dairy from his diet immediately eliminated these> reactions. And as I had said before, when I reintroduced dairy two months> later, he was fine. I might add, he never had diarrhea or cramping before he> went GF.> > > > Just like every adult experiences different recovery rates, I think children> do as well.> > > > -----Original Message-----> > > > Was he lactose intolerant before diagnosis?>
