Guest guest
Had an odd experience last night... We went out to a taqueria where we have eaten a number of times before for dinner. It had recently changed hands, so I went all through the usual questions and answers with the woman at the ordering desk, and thought everything would be o.k. We order, pay, and sit down to wait for our food. The server drops off the chips and salsa, and I have a couple of chips. Suddenly I realized that these were not the same chips we'd had there before, and I was also 100% sure they had gluten in them. My fault, I double-checked all the dinner items and forgot to ask about the chips. First thing I do is grab the chips away from the little SillyYak; luckily he hadn't eaten any yet. Then I wondered what to do next? Finally I decided since I had already been " poisoned " I'd just sit there and enjoy the garlic shrimp since nothing else would make a difference - I react the same to tiny or large amounts of gluten. I know some folks try to vomit up gluten ingestions, but for me that causes more problems than it solves. Today my son seems fine, so I think his dinner really was safe. Me? Definitely glutened! What would you do if you knew you had just ingested gluten? Maureen p.s. if you live near Sunnyvale, AVOID the taqueria at the corner of Wolfe Rd. and !
