Thanks for telling us about your experience with your

dr. There are now 4 families in our town who have

children with clubfeet who have gone to Iowa and

another two that I know of who haven't. Our midwife is

great about calling us when they have someone with the

diagnosis via U/S. We are meeting with a family on

Saturday.

We went for a recheck with the local ortho. I told

him we were going to Iowa for the symposium and Alaya

was going to be a case study, hoping he would be

interested in hearing more about the ponseti method

but he didn't take the bait. I've talked to him

before about it. His response was " Oh they use that

in columbus " They don't everyone I've talked to who

has gone to Columbus has had surgery. Why can't

doctors get it through their thick skulls that this is

the way to go???? Maybe someday. Any ideas how I can

encourage our doctor without being overly pushy. I

had all the articles that the drs. received last year

at the symposium but since he didnt' seem interested I

didn't offer them. I did give him copies of Alaya's

records from Dr. P. He said her feet are wonderfully

corrected but her tibia is twisted which isn't

uncommon for children her age, but it may be affected

by using the FAB.

We are hoping to be in Las Vegas in February for a

conference. My room mate from college (lifelong

friend) is living there. Tony has a conference there

so I think I'll go and hang out. I'd love to meet you

and your family.
