Hi...Thank you all for you're letters and questions. I'll try to hit it all

with this one....

I think you are all right about the kids. It sure makes sense when you look

at it like that. It is so hard when you are trying to save the ones you love

from this. I think I am going to take your advice. I'll talk to their pedia.

and make sure he know's what's going on, and then we'll just watch them.

Well, I was nervous about taking the RAI, and now I think I'm more

nervous.... I took 12 MCI I131, on August 23. I'm supposed to call the endo

tomorrow and talk about the results from the sonogram. I don't think she'll

jump the gun anymore than she already has. I say she, I saw 5 doctors in a

weeks time and they all told me to take it as soon as possible. I thought

with that many second opinions I should go ahead and do it. Everyone's

response here is (West Texas) that as soon as you pop the pill, life will get

a lot better. The endo. and the nuclear medicine doctor did talk about me

feeling worse, but I thought that would happen within the first few days, and

then it was all better from there. Don't get me wrong: I do feel better, I

just don't feel good. My pulse is racey again, and I just get so nervous and

worked up over everything. Everyone says that is part of the disease, and

I'm glad. That way maybe it'll go away one day! But, for about a week or so

after " the pill " , I felt good. No shakes, not really anything. My thyroid

seemed to have shrunk. Anyways, the doctor that said I would need to retake

it was another endo in the office, he's the one that does the sonograms. I'm

still going to hold out hope that my doctor will do the right thing. If not,

I think I might run away to family in Dallas or San and check out my

options there.

I just still have so many questions and reading your posts brings more and

more. I did go get a notebook today, and the endo and I will hopefully have

a long talk when I go in. I don't think she will have a problem with that,

she asked me to research it and know what I'm dealing with.

I guess my biggest question now is: If this is really an immune system

problem, where does it hit next? I know it can go to the eyes, but where to

after that? How can you make it stop?

Well, I'm sorry to rattle on and on.....Thanks for listening!

Thanks Terry for your advice. You are right of course. If we go

telling our kids they may get this disease it is something else for

them to worry about and possibly needlessly. And worrying can lead

to stress and we know where that can lead.

I am so happy to hear you are living a full and healthy lifestyle. I

have always been a busy person who thrives on being busy. Can't

imagine myself just sitting around all day. I hope to get back into

all soon.

Though I will try to get back on track and just enjoy life.

At the moment I am trying hard to focus on anything else but GD. It

seems to occupy all my thoughts and I don't think this is good.

Maybe because I am feeling so rotten and when I am feeling better I

will not think about all so much.

Once again thanks so much for your input. I will put your letter

aside and am sure will refer back to it again for inspiration.

Hi Everyone!! My endo put me on 40 mg/twice a day of Inderal for heart

palpitations. Has anyone else had this? It is giving me painful indigestion.

Think I might ring him and check if this is normal!
