Guest guest
Okay, I'm new to the message board and I read that joining one would help me feel better about having fibroids. I'm 25 and I have 3 fibroids. 2 of them which are 4cm and 1 which is 6 cm. They grew rapidly. I went to GYN in May and I was fine then I returned in August and she said my uterus was enlarged. I've been very emotional since. I knew I would get fibroids b/my mother developed them in her late 30's but I'm only 25. All the books I read say the avg age is around 35 or so. I have no children, I'm not engaged, I don't have a boyfriend. Yes, I do want children but its looking more and more grim. My Dr told me in November that I had 18 months, so if I want children I better make it happen now. I chose to go on depro to try to slow down the growth or shrink the fibroids. I'm due for another shot next month and I'm now debating if I want to do so because I've read and spoke to many women on depro whom told me it took them almost two yrs to get their period back. I guess I would be able to deal with this better if I were 5 yrs older but I'm not. I always ate healthy stayed away from caffiene was an NCAA track and field athlete. I'm 5'7 and weight 135lbs now.. I normally weigh 128. I had all the plans to go back to school and get my MBA but now that I have waht is now a 16 month window in order to have a family I'm hesistant to do anything. I'm now listening to healing music before I go to bed and try to relax a little more. I picked up a part-time job at a bookstore so I can keep my mind busy and not depress myself. I do think that my regular 9-5 causes much stress. It's not the job, it's more the people their, like the ignorant mgrs. When I was 20 my family practice dr made me quit my jobs b/he said i was too stressed and it was affecting my health. I guess right now I just need to know what is out there to do, to reduce the fibroids or slow down the growth. I'm not going into this blindly, I read about 4 books already cover to cover but I'd like it if someone who was my age when they were diagnosed and what they did and how they coped with it. Any and all responses is welcome....please -S
