Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I just wanted to reply to your e-mail because I was on a very high-protiet diet prior to getting pregnant this past time. Last summer, I ate practically a half a pound of cheese every day. In addition, I had no morning sickness whatsoever. I was also taking a lot of extra iron and B vitamins so that might have helped. I had morning sickness when I was pregnant with my son. Shoshannah K Rockville, land

Guest guest
Kalyn, Thanks for making me recheck my source on that... Here is what the book actually said, (From the book, Your Pregnancy Week by Week by Glade B. Curtis, M.D., OBGYN): " Can you help avoid morning sickness in pregnancy? A recent study showed that women who ate high amounts of saturated fat -- the kind found in cheese and red meat-- in the year before they got pregnant had a higher risk of suffering severe morning sickness during pregnancy. If you're planning a pregnancy, you may want to cut down on these foods. " My mind interpreted the fats as protein becasue of the cheese and red meat... gahh... I am SO SORRY and SO GLAD you called me on it! I, quite frankly, appreciate it because it keeps me from spreading the wrong information. Gahh...! I guess I thought since I ate a lot of cheese and red meats, it became " protein " instead of " fat " in my mind! lol... go figure! Thanks again!
