Guest guest
, Thanks for looking that up. I didn't have a chance to check out Medicare's web site yesterday like I wanted to, but did look at the 2004 book, and it said that it covers wheelchairs. Of course with the usual deductible and 20% being my responsibility. Our insurance covers $2,500 in durable medical equipment. They came right out and told my therapist they cover manual wheelchairs, but not electric ones. Oh, and they *have* to approve the one you want-so you get the " most affordable " one....in other words the cheapest possible. At the beginning of the week Rod and I are going out to the place that sells wheelchairs and talk with them. I've been told by my PT that they file the insurance. Perhaps they'll be of help in dealing with this company. (if we go with them) I still want to check out Medicare and our insurance company on line so I know for sure what's supposed to be covered. Thanks for sending the web site. Please let me know about web page on Medicare-Medicaid. In another state *years* ago when I first filed for disability we didn't qualify, but I haven't checked on anything regarding this state. Thanks so much for you information.
