I know you are right about staying positive but one of the symptoms of diabetes , and blood pressure meds is depression Hi Sharon, I was on Glyburide when I lost weight. One of the side effects of that drug is weight gain. I didn't gain, I started losing. One person in a thousand may gain weight, therefore they have to put this as a side effect. When I had cancer, if I had read and believed all the side effects that were listed for the chemo drugs I had to take, I would have been very depressed. I would read the literature and say, " this is not going to happen to me " . I never got sick, never lost my appetite. The only side effects I had was losing my hair (no big deal), gaining weight because of the steroids, (I lost it) and one sore on my mouth. I called the doctor, got a prescription and that healed in a couple of days. There were some days I could hardly get out of bed, but I accepted that. Talk to your doctor about your concerns with Glyzipide. Ask him if there is another med that you could try. A medicine is not going to do all it is supposed to do if you are stressed about it. Sharon, it took me 9 months to lose 48 lbs. It was a slow process, but worth it. hugs Eunice

It will take time, but you can lose it. Stop thinking about your weight. Do things for yourself that you enjoy doing. Continue your TOPS program. Remember the story about the " Little Red Train " . Keep saying, " I think I can, I think I can " and you will. I still remember the first person that asked me if I had lost weight. It was one of my uncle's. Another time, and I were shopping and a friend saw us and thought for an instant that was with someone else. She had not seen me since I had lost the weight. hugs Eunice - who is a very positive person
