Hi all,

I was wondering if those of you who use a PDA could give me the rundown on them.

I have been looking at them and want to purchase one to use mostly for WW, but

also for organizing appts. I wanted to know what would be the best one to get.

I know nothing about them, don't even know anyone personally that owns one.

Please tell me why you chose the one you did and what you like and dislike about

it. TIA!

Hugs,

Hi,

I own a Sony Clie. I purchased it one year and one half ago from Radio

Shack. It uses the Palm OS software. The first one I purchased a few years

before that used the Windows CE software, but didn't have many available

programs for them. The logic I used was based upon a wrong assumption that

if it was windows, it would have the most flexibility. But that is not the

case with PDA's.

I use mine for appointments, notes, phone numbers & addresses. Also, I am a

teacher and I have my lesson plans and grade book on it as well. Then there

is WW and WWCalc that I obtained thru a mailing list on Yahoo.

I bought the PDA primarily for WW. Of course I hope to use the address

book and calendar as well and hopefully even the Documents to Go. My

Tungsten E was $199. I probably could have gotten it cheaper if I had

been willing to go to pricescan.com or some of those other online places,

but suddenly I just had to have it and had to have it right now. Every

place that I checked locally was selling it for $199. For $399 I could

have gotten the Tungsten T5, which has a longer screen and lots more

memory plus a number of other things, but I didn't want to spend twice as

much $$ till I knew if I would even like it! I could be wrong, but I

think the WWcalc program that I am using will only work on Palms, not on

the other operating system, I forget what it's called.

I have a Treo 600. I love it. It's a phone/PDA combo and it's awesome.

It runs on the Palm platform, which is nice, since it requires less

memory and there are more programs available. The only downside to Palm

is that the program graphics don't look as nice as the ones for the

Pocket PC. The high-resolution games typically look pretty good, but

the Treo 600 doesn't support hi-res.

I've gone through my share of PDA's. My motto was.. If it's been 6

months, I've had it too long. I've owned a Palm IIIe, Jornada, Ipaq,

Sony UX50, Kyocera 7135, and finally, my Treo. It has a color screen,

keyboard, .3mp camera (nice for little photos to camera-phone to other

people), fast processor and sufficient memory. Plus, it's a great cell

phone.

Honestly, I don't have any complaints about this phone. Well, maybe one

setback is the price... They usually run around $400-$600. Since my

husband bought this one for me for my birthday, I wasn't too concerned.

Thank you . That is the pda I was looking at, but wasn't sure if I wanted

to spend $200 on a pda for WW. I do also need it for the calendar...we have

alot of doctor appts in the family, so that would be very helpful. Thanks again

for your input...very much appreciated.Hugs,
