Guest guest
claimant has sarcoidosis and Bell's palsy." Now I've had two episodes of 7th nerve palsy, both resolved (there are subtle effects left from the second one, but most people don't notice). But Baughman had mentioned that Bell's palsy is commonly associated with neuro-sarcoidosis, which wasn't mentioned in the SS letter (the NS). But just the fact of listing sarcoidosis, almost as a stand-alone diagnosis, I thought was pretty remarkable. Maybe that will set a precedent. Do you think? Bells Palsy is a huge sign of NS. So is the "fibromyalgia" they've claimed I've had for a gazillion years-- it was probably the first sign that my muscles and ligaments were involved-- our muscles harden with exertion-- instead of relaxing. I guess that my massage therapist was right on when she stopped mid-massage, and said "Shit, have you ever tried massaging a fire hydrant?" It is good to see that we are finally getting some recognition that sarc is a BAD disease. Group hug, Tracie
Guest guest
Tracie- It must be getting some recognition. I was turned down in 97 when I developed hydrocephaelus & it took me 9 months to return to work. This time sarc was the only thing I know of that was listed & they said ok in like 4 months. I think my neuro psych results really cinched it. --- tiodaat@... wrote: > In a message dated 11/14/05 9:52:47 PM Pacific > Standard Time, > mamadogrose@... writes: > > > > claimant has sarcoidosis and Bell's palsy. It's so unreal that they would not approve you with hydrocephaelus. That is so brutal, and even with the ports and such-- your brain is not able to work correctly. Sarcoidosis was still unknown when I got my SSDI 3 years ago, but it was the neuropsych tests that sealed it for me. Between the short-term memory loss, and the lack of comprehension (thank god Ive still got my long-term memory) and not being able to multi-task any longer-- working went the wayside. I'm so glad that you've been approved, and quickly this time. Take care, Tracie
