Guest guest Posted September 3, 2003 Report Share Posted September 3, 2003 The doctors have been concerned with my weight loss, but since he is measuring fine, they have backed off on the 'eat more' routine. I have been very diligent about getting my 1200 calories a day. I talk to a nutritionist weekly and so far so good! I've lost about 99# since my surgery and basically since I've been pregnant. Guest guest Posted September 5, 2003 Report Share Posted September 5, 2003 Philippa I got pregnant 6 months out of surgery. At the time I had lost 170lbs already. This is my first pregnancy... I weigh the exact same as I did when I found out I was pregnant. I lost more weight, but at the same time I gained baby, but managed to not change the scale. I am Currently 3 days over due. I was due on 9-2-03, and have had no signs of going into labor... I have remained perfectly healthy, and the baby has too. I can't answer your questions as far as baby's size, because I don't exactly Know yet... When I had my last ultrasound, about 2-3 weeks ago she was aprox. 7 lbs.. Basically average. Guest guest Posted February 17, 2004 Report Share Posted February 17, 2004 I have a feeling you'll soon be deluged with similar replies but here goes...if I were you given the situation you've described, I would resurf now and get back to living a full and normal life asap. Hard to say how long a given BHR will actually last but longevity projections are excellent and results to date are extremely promising across a broad spectrum of activity levels. A number of recent posts have been made by soon-to-be patients with dysplastic hips. Dr Koen De Smet in Belgium does these with the Birmingham device and it's dysplasia cup modification although it's not named BHR wihout good reason. Have your local OS advise you and send films around if needed. Best of luck with your decision.
