Guest guest
Hello, everyone, I posted a message a few days back about my son Evan (8-17-00, bilateral cf, treated Ponsetti method, out of dbb too early at age 2) who is now mildly relapsing. Thanks to the two who responded with recommendations to try recasting instead of just watching things get worse and then going to ATTT (this is the advice of our dr.) We really value your advice and it is so nice to hear from people who know what we are talking about! Our family just says that his feet still look so good and not to worry but we see them changing and are so afraid of what is to come. I took Evan to a physical therapist Friday just to see what she'd say --even though I know PT is considered not beneficial to cf kids, I want to exhaust every avenue. She wants to put Evan in AFO's. While Evan can stand flat on the floor, he does not have a good heel strike when he walks and is leaning toward the outside of his feet. She says the AFO will create a good heel strike and will maintain his foot position where it is now. What do you think? I'd really like to hear from people with older kids who have relapsed. What have you tried? Is re-casting and going back to the dbb possible with a 3 1/2 year old? We are going nuts with this decision and it is SO HARD when the " experts " do not agree. HELP!!! With thanks,
