Guest guest
i just went to your site... That is exactly how both of 's feet look.. We just got the new shoes. Yeahhh.. Finally out of casts. (after 17) Did you find it hard to get his foot completely flat in the shoes. I can't do it.. So i get them as close as i can.. Hopefully it will eventually. Any tips? Thanks Re: Kai's site Angel, You've done a fantastic job on Kai's site! It looks great so far! Daiga > Hi all! Just wanted to say that I have come alot closer to completeing Kai's webpage. Guest guest
, We had a hard time getting 's feet completely flat in her sandals as well. It has gotten better with time. Her heels still do not completely fill up the hole in the back of the sandal but they seem to be flat. I've talked to both Dr. Ponseti and about this and they don't seem to be concerned. Her feet have not had any blisters and do not slip out. Some suggestions that different parents gave us were to dorsiflex her foot and drop the heel into the back of the sandal. Then tighten the middle strap first. We usually tighten the top strap next and then the lower strap. I believe Angel suggested that we tighten the middle strap then the top strap and then try tightening the middle strap again for the most secure fit. I find the top strap the hardest to get through the buckle because it is such an odd angle and the tip of the strap is flimsy. did not have any other brace so I can't compare the sandals to any of the others. We (I believe) have had success with this brace though. We'll find out when she sees Dr. Ponseti on July 7th. Sorry if I babbled. Guest guest
Bridget Thanks for the advice. They still don't go down all the way but they are definately going down further than they were. Thanks again Re: Kai's site Angel, You've done a fantastic job on Kai's site! It looks great so far! Daiga > Hi all! Just wanted to say that I have come alot closer to completeing Kai's webpage. Guest guest
I did find it difficult at first. Two things, first is that with time the foot began to be more shapely and more easily. My other suggestions are here : http://www.mdorthopaedics.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=429 It just takes some time to get used to them. The great thing about the shoes is that if there is any correction lost in " transition " they CAN fix it! Some of the children with 'atypical' clubfoot have been put into these shoes with their feet not fully corrected and are doing great. Good luck and let us know how it goes Angel Re: Kai's site Angel, You've done a fantastic job on Kai's site! It looks great so far! Daiga > Hi all!
