Guest guest Posted April 19, 2006 Report Share Posted April 19, 2006 Barry, One of the reasons this country doesn't have socialized medicine is b/c it has many downfalls as well as benefits. One of the downfalls that I know about from friends who live in the UK as well as in Canada is the waiting lists such as for testing such as MRIs or even surgeries. And b/c of this at times people have died. In this country some of the States are trying to make changes to make sure that citizens in those States have Medical care. But there's an upside and a downside to each way of taking care of the health of the public and b/c of some of the downsides for sure things still need to be fixed.
