Guest guest
> Thank you Kim and Debbie for completely putting me off the thought of having > a Mirena! I will not bore everyone by repeating my Mirena story but in a nutshell it lasted 6 weeks! Horrendous and the only good that came out of it was realising that I was not alone (Thank you so much Kim) However on the subject of trying for another baby.... the specialist is now talking of Goralex implants to induce the menopause for 6 months and then they will 'turn me back on again' to see if that will get my system working normally. This could take at least year and then, and only IF this has all worked, could we try for another baby. I had made the decision to try and go complementary for the rest of this year, try acupuncture, reflexology, change of diet etc to see if I could some relief that way. At least then I thought that if I was OK, and if we wanted to, we could try again then (dd1 would be 3 yrs 4 months and DD2 1yr 9 months at that time) The only other alternative being a hysterectomy which I really do not want at 34, it all seems so final. Anyway - seems that part of this decision is being taken away from me. A period (well at least that's what I think it is/was) started Thursday morning, I was up all Thursday night with the equivalent of labour pains, severe clotting, horrendous bleeding (sorry for the details but night time pads lasting a max of 40 minutes - even borrowed a nappy from the baby at one point) This continued for most of Friday - spoke to the Dr who got me to restart the clotting tablets I was given after the birth of DD2. Finally managed to speak to specialist this morning - he has upped clotting tablet dosage, plus put me on large doses of Progesterone and loads of pain killers (feel a bit of a zombie) and will speak to me again tomorrow. He wants to see me asap about these implants. Bleeding has subsided slightly but still far worse than a 'usual' very heavy period. Sorry to have rambled on a bit - just feel very confused and extremely tearful over the whole event (not helped by the fact that I am now dreadfully anaemic - sent DH out for Floradix) Does anyone have any idea on how I can deal with this bleeding? alternatives? (I am willing to try anything) My mum (DM?) is worrying in case it is a miscarriage and everyone just missed the symptons - Me - just very low and cann't really believe that this is happening to me - All I do know is that I have been blessed with 2 little girls that I never thought I could have and feel that maybe I shoould just count my blessings and pull myself to gether. Beverly PS Also worrying as we have our NNS next week and I'm chief organiser!

Lots of love to you Beverly, I`m not much help with your questions but am thinking of you. ((((((Hugs))))) Barbara P.S. Ditch the NNS, you are not in a fit state to do it. Even get DH to ring somebody and get un-involved in it, if that is the best way. promise?

Beverley, haven't got anything useful to say about your health problems, except sympathies - it sounds like you're having a rotten time - but what I can and will say, is please find someone else to take over the NNS. Your health comes first and if you're not feeling up to it, then let it go. BTDT. Newsletter Editor, Leighton Buzzard & District NCT SAHM to 19/9/97 and Caitlin 12/1/00. Guest guest
Apologies for last post, I just re read Beverly's orignal post and it doesn't seem that I read it right. I thought you were having a miss; now it seems it's something else I had a hysterectomy after horrendous problems but I wasn't so young and I had 8 kids, so I cannot begin to compare. *HUG* Ruthie
