Guest guest
I forgot that. Still, since the Markells work for us now (had terrible time with a sore at first) we'll stick with them. Plus Darbi is seen at Shriners so we're lucky that they don't charge us for them. Even if they did, she's had 00's, 1's, 2's, 2-1/2's and now 3's that she's about at the end of so that's almost 5 (!!) pairs of shoes in 17 mo. At $60-$100 each (she's had to get new bars too) it's still expensive! Please let us know how you do with the larger sized shoes, if he's got them in production yet. Angel said something about Kai's bar being at it's limit and she was hoping was going to come out with a longer bar soon. MAybe someday I'll bite it and get her a pair, maybe by then they'll be cheaper or insurance will cover them. I wonder... I should ask about her insurance coverage, I don't even know what they do cover. I've never asked because Shriners takes care of it all. Has anyone had insurance cover them yet? I hope you like the 's. I thought they were so cute! I really liked that the plastic thing that holds the bar together in the middle had " Ponseti " on it molded into the plastic. Warmed my heart! 20 minutes is a long time to get the DBB on! How frustrating. I bet he'll still squirm regardless lol. It's the age :~} It used to take about 10 min to get Darbi's on when we were first doing this. Now I'm pretty good at it and those knots really help. I haven't timed it but I bet it's more in the 2-3 minute range depending on if she pulls one side out before I get them laced. Kori At 01:26 PM 8/30/2004, you wrote: >P.S. Guest guest
I don't know, it is odd how our experiences are alike but different. I have tried putting Kaitlin on my lap facing the same way (like you do) and putting the shoes on. No success there. She arches her back and rolls over and off of my lap. I've tried to keep her still but the way she arches her back to get off, it is impossible. She ends up with the top her head on the ground next to my hip in some weird way and then she keeps on arching until I give up. She is STRONG! It's not that she dislikes the shoes, she just hates being on her back. Like I have said before, I've resorted to putting her diapers on backwards instead of fighting to keep her on her back. Even if I have one foot in the shoes and I try to hold it she turns over, and I know it must hurt her to turn over while I am holding the shoed foot & bar right side up. I don't know why, but she ABSOLUTELY refuses to stay on her back. It's funny because when I first started " tummy time " with her she would scream until I put her on her back.... I think the view is more interesting to her when she's on her stomach. As long is someone is standing over her distracting her she will stay on her back...until she gets bored. Guest guest
I find that bending the knee and pushing down on the top of his foot presses the heel down in to the shoe - this with him sitting on my lap facing away from me. This reminds me of saddling a horse that holds it's breath....when you have to knee them in the belly to get the cinch tight. I have to " knee " Everett once in a while to get his heel down. s. Re: Shoes I had a really hard time with Zoe pulling her foot out before I could tighten it until I did the Kori trick with pushing on the top of her foot with my thumb once the foot was down and until I had the strap done and laces tight. She is getting so much more fidgety though.
