Guest guest
I'm not sure of your situation here in terms of how corrected your daughter's feet are after months(?) of not wearing the shoes and then just starting to wear them again.....BUT, in regards to getting to sleep with the brace, we always put Evan to sleep and then put the shoes on after he was really zonked. He is a very heavy sleeper obviously and still is. Worked like a charm for us! and Evan (8-17-00 bcf) >Hello all, > >How did you ever get your babies to sleep all night with the DBB's. >My daughter Delaney had to wear them once, before she was walking and >it didn't work then. Guest guest
We do the same... wait until Vin is sleeping then slip them on. Its so much easier when he is sleeping. To compensate for putting them on later... I wait until he is at the sitter and had breakfast before taking them off. Since he had been in them 24 and then 20/7, he doesn't really mind. He did mind when he first got them. The casts were bad enough, but now his feet were lashed together! What a trial it was in the beginning. Now he just doesnt care as long as he doesn't know they are being put on. Guest guest
Oh, they definitely adjust. has been sick lately. He was mad the other night (in the middle of the night) and pulled his shoes off- -within 10 minutes he was asking me to please put his shoes back on. We try to keep his shoes off as much as we can during the day so his feet can have air and it gives him a break. Guest guest
Hi, I'm sure other people will chime in here, but if a child doesn't tolerate the dbb well, it could be a sign that the foot wasn't properly corrected to begin with. Also, have you checked to make sure the bar is the proper width and the shoes are not too small? These factors also affect how well the child sleeps. Also, has she had more casting to recorrect her feet at this point before trying the dbb again? After so long without casts or shoes, the chances are likely that she needs more casting. If you've already said in a previous post that your daughter was having casting to treat a relapse before trying the shoes again, my apologies for forgetting! Hope this helps! Guest guest
Hi Tina, I too have had a sleepless night or two with our Molly in the FAB as given by Dr. Cook at the IWK. I have some pointers that I know he neglected in passing on to us. You can email me directly or call me at 425-0422 (Darmouth, NS) if you would like to talk.
