Guest guest
I have been nibbling away at my email messages. I go through about 15-20 at the end, then do the same for the latest, which is why some of my replies probably don't make much sense. And those of you with messages in the middle may not hear from me until spring, so try not to take it personally! I wrote this whine/complaint/query/parable/whatever, to Darlene, then decided to burden the rest of you with it! Ha, and you thought I forgot your Christmas present! Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback. Here 'tis: Darlene, I try to take each day as it comes & just do what I can. But I feel like I am losing ground all the time. The other morning I woke up & just didn't want to get out of bed because so many things were flitting through my mind. I didn't have anything handy to write them down & knew I would forget them by the time I got out of bed! Important things. I told myself, just chip away at it, just one thing at a time. The problem is, I feel like I'm chipping away at a mountain of stuff, and meanwhile somebody's on the other side with a, whattacallit, scoop loader tractor thing, piling on more stuff! I mean, I accomplished a tremendous amount in the last 2 days, but I've still lost ground. I've become bipolar--euphoric one moment because my living room now looks inviting, but lower than a worm the next because I have to negotiate a minefield just to get into bed. Any suggestions, anyone? Actually, I should ask the whole group, so I think I'll cut & paste this into a group email. Hope y'all are doing "good enuff" & I'll keep picking at my mountain with my spoon. Guest guest
Rose I've been a slob most of my adult life & now I only worry about clearing a path so I don't fall. But I live alone so no one is here to complain. LOL I need an organizing plan because I want to find another apartment. I tend to move the same boxes from the last move around from spot to spot but don't get anything gone through. I did go to a " clutter class " out at my sisters church that was helping me go through some stuff here but I lost the notebook in my mess. Pretty much they had us go through a box a day but now I'd be happy to get to a box every 3 or 4 days. I was getting rid of stuff too but I'm slipping back in my packrat ways. I'm going to try the 3 box system of sorting - keep, give (or throw) away & think about it. Hopefully everything doesn't go in the think about box. grannylunatic@... __________________________________________________

Guest guest
,I am going to get my husband to read this; he thinks I am lazy. He is having a hard time dealing with my cognitive issues and he doesn't understand just hangin up my lacies can take forever because it has to be taken out of the washer one piece at a time then I have to figure out how to put it on the hanger and then I have to figure out where I want to hang it. Then I forget what I am doing and I start washing dishes which immediately sets of a trip to the bathroom which reminds me I had starting hanging out my delicates and so on and so on and so on. Everyone thinks that since you look so great that you are just acting stupid and being a baby. Don't you wish they had to live in your crazy brain for just a few hours. I wouldn't wish an entire day in my brain on my worst enemy.Well - at least there are people out there who are in the same boat and by the way - to Rose - I hate it when I wake up with some song looping through my head!!! Guest guest
This reminds me of the book " If you Give a Mouse a Cookie or If You Give a Moose a Muffin " . I want you all to know I have been doing this for awhile now and I felt bad. I was the kind of person that made a list only to make another list on how to get the first list done, then I would make a list to remind me of the list....and I would post several copies all over the house, car..... I started forgetting the list and now I do not make a list at all. I thought about this at Christmas. When I did not remember what I bought my kids for Christmas. I kept looking for my list that I never made. thanks for sharing, Janet > > > > > > Rose > > I've been a slob most of my adult life & now I only > > worry about clearing a path so I don't fall. Guest guest
Hi Terri, I know what you mean. Everything I do takes me twice the time that it used to.Its like I have one speed - slow. Usually by the time my husband gets home , I'm beat from doing stuff around the house all day. The he comes home when I'm lying down and asks "what did you do all day?" insinuating that I have been laying around watching tv all day.I give up..... Guest guest
Hi Rosie, Take it easy. When I used to get overwhelmed like that, my therapist said to just take one project at a time and rest in between. Tell yourself, today I work on this, this and this. Accomplish what you can by taking your time. Finish one thing at a time before moving on to the next. Don't stress out over the whole picture. Break it down into small manageable chunks. And remember to always take little breaks in between so you won't be so tired. Good luck to you, DebbieRose wrote: I have been nibbling away at my email messages. Guest guest
Man - don't we do some crazy stuff. I would like to see a good list of the dumbest things we have ever done. Guest guest
OK I have no shame so I'll tell. LOL It's a tie! The first one is when I tried to put my pants leg on my arm but that's when I had the hydrocepaelus put me out of it for 3 days until I was found on the floor. The other one was just plain silly. I put my diaper on inside out & was going to complain to the company when it leaked until I realized it was operator error on my part! grannylunatic@... __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Thanks, Debbie. This is one of the messages that never came through to me. I've been working my way through the archives, from the most recent messages back, and I've found 4 messages in the first 3 days that never made it to my email. I really want to ditch Hotmail & go back to Outlook Express, but just the thought of it makes me swoon. Now try to picture that, and you should be able to generate a little smile. Anyway, I'm still working on it. It takes a complete change in perspective. Before, a major victory for me would be delivering twins without any doctor assistance, or something like that. Now, I'm thrilled because I got the utility bill paid on time. All my life I've kept raising the bar, now I have to get used to lowering it, or heck, just laying it on the ground & hoping I don't trip over the danged thing! Your ramblin' buddy, Rose
