Guest guest
Okay, I may be confused because I have not have read all the posts in this thread, but lemme get this straight..... you receive money from the government *just for living in Alaska???* I should be getting BIG TIME MONEY for living in Alabama!! HEE HEE!!! Autumn ~ On Thu, 25 Sep 2003 19:30:07 -0000 " Pat " writes: Nope, no real plans yet, but I'm sure we'll find something. Did you see how much smaller it is this year? Seems like since we moved here, it's gotten smaller and smaller. Guess I shouldn't complain, except for having to pay Fedral Tax, it's free money. At least the market seems to be improving, so mayby next years will be a little better, if they don't find someway to do away with it altogether. Guest guest
Autumn, Yep, for living in Alaska, it has be 2 years now, each resident gets a check every October. It's from the oil pipeline profits. Last years was what Pat $1500? Year before was $1800! This year is " only " $1107! But as Pat said, the lovely lawmakers of this great state keep trying to dip into it or get rid of it completely so we enjoy it while it lasts. Guest guest
Yes, Autumn, every man, woman, and child that is a resident of the State of Alaska and who has registered will be receiving $1107.56 each from the state. This is from an investment in monies earned by oil revenues. Guest guest
Hummm... never knew this that Alaskans got money from the oil pipeline profits. For some reason doesn't sound all that fair but then I guess they consider the remote parts of Alaska and possibly how it might be harder to live there than in other states. Not to say that it is less in any way, I am sure Alaska is beautiful. Never been up that far north sorry so I don't know. I was thinking with the snow and cold weather I don't think it is as easy to get around like here in California...lol. I envision Alaska with heavy winter gear and dogs and sleighs. LOL. Again though, I have heard that it is beautiful up there. I know someone through a family friend that has relatives I think in Fairbanks.
