Wow, thanks for the info, Melonie! :) Sterling will be thrilled to

cereals from General Mills...I hope they continue the trend :)

What does the box look like...?

Thanks...

with everyone right away. This new Dora the Explorer Cinnamon Stars

cereal contains no gluten ingredients. I contacted General Mills

from the store and the rep said that if there was any gluten

ingredients that it would be listed and if there was any chance of

cross-contamination that would also be listed as an ingredient

statement after the ingredient list. She said if there is no gluten

listed then the product is gluten free. This is great news! I hope

all the kids will enjoy this new cereal. We have already tasted it

dry and it is delicious.

Read the boxes of Trix and Cocoa Puffs VERY carefully!! There are

many old boxes of it floating around out there yet! It's only

recently that they changed their ingredients!

There is a thread on these cereals from a few months ago that you could read, but it boils down to this...General Mills has changed their formulas to "whole grain." That means that they are leaving out "wheat starch, etc." that may make mainstream cereals off limits to us. This is a fairly recent change so keep reading the boxes. The GF versions have already shown up in my grocery stores but it may take a while for your area - but they are out there :) Hope this helps "unconfuse" you!

Re: Dora the Explorer Cinnamon Stars Cereal - GF?

I am confused, I looked on line and in the store and Trix clearly had Wheat in the ingreedients lists. Why do you believe it is GF?>

We found the Dora cereal in the grocery store yesterday! It's really

quite good...doesn't seem as sweet as some of the other cereals and

has 3 g of fiber per 3/4 cup, too. Sterling loves it, as does his

mother. :)

Not a very big box for $3.49, though...I'm gonna have to keep my eyes

open for some good sales!

Thanks for the suggestion, Melonie!

General Mills has a brand new labeling that the old boxes will not. They have a picture of leaf that looks like a wheat symbol, but it is not wheat. It symbolizes "whole grain" as in the product is an excellent source of whole grain. You will see this symbol right next to the ingredients list as well as on the top of the box which explains the symbol. It is all made from corn.

Also, with TRIX, the size of the box makes a difference - so far, only thevery large boxes seem to have the new formula (without wheat starch).> -----Original Message----->> There are still packages of the old version of Trix and Cocoa Puffs> floating around out there, hence, my warning to be very cautious and> read every single box every single time!>> > >> > I am confused, I looked on line and in the store and Trix clearly> had> > Wheat in the ingreedients lists.
