Guest guest
I agree Dianne. You look like no more than a size 10. a -- Dianne Boy you should keep a card of all that walking you are doing. You amaze us now but we would be aghast at the miles you walk in a week, a month! Proud of you girl and those size 12 must be small because you do not look like a size 12, 10 maybe. Guest guest
Now that you are in training, you should be treating your body like an athlete. I think you should start keeping track of your daily calories and protein counts. I don't think you are getting enough of either. Your body needs to build muscle to keep up with your increased demands. Without sufficient protein and calories it can't build the muscle you require. Your body needs increased fuel to produce extra results. Treat your body well and it will treat you well. Beth Perhaps the 10 mile walk yesterday had my body yearning for more nutrition. I also wonder if I am starting to build more muscle? I only walked 2 miles most days this summer and have Kicked It Up A Notch the past 6 - 8 weeks. love, Dianne October Miles

Guest guest
You are probably building muscle with all of those miles you have been walking. Are you eating enough or are you still having cravings? How are your clothes fitting? I think that you may have to reconsider your goal and concentrate on measurements and bodyfat testing. Your body is rewarding you for all of your hard work with muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room and increases your metabolism. Sounds like a good deal to me. Guest guest
regarding>>>>>Conclusions: Data from the present study suggest that higher levels of fat in the diet, up to 40%, increase endurance running time without adverse effects on plasma cortisol, IFN-gamma, and lipid peroxide levels. So.......... This sounds like Atkins is good for endurance running or walking....... right folks??? JJ .......... where are you when I need you?? Thanks Norma. Guest guest
Hi Norma, I have been running around like a checken with my head cut off. Cluck...cluck.....arggggg........ really......... I am sore from my fall but still moving. I feel like you do after the first time you lift weights... everything hurts a little. But my hip is killing me.... and you have to remember, I walked 11 miles on Friday before I fell. Joya... You asked me about whether or not my hips hurt..... well Now I am not sure what caused this pain.... the long FAST walking or the fall. I am going easy for a couple days.......But I am so dang busy. My employer wants me to start teaching crafts for Handicapped Adults and I have been working 20 hrs. a week with Terri and Jan and I cleaned my moms house this weekend and My house is a wreck and......... Tonight the " girls " and I are going to see Smokey and my DH is joining us. I have a roaster of Beef Rolls in the oven " Rouladen " . Is this a Canadian Holiday too? My prayers are flooding to the New Yorkers, and others on the plane who are involved in this latest disaster. I will check in tonight Pals, Love, Di Dianne 163/150/140 " The weakest among us can become some kind of an athlete, but only the strongest can survive as spectators. Guest guest
Yes Norma. We will celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday and many people turn it into a four day holiday and travel. Did Canada celebrate Veterans Day on Monday as we did? Dianne

Guest guest
Some of us had Monday off but we did our parades and services on Sunday the 11th. I marched in the parade with dad. I felt t like a sore thumb and that I did not belong there but he insisted. I was behind him and he was behind the mounties. Norma

Guest guest
Hi Norma: And did you avoid all the little 'presents' the mounts left behind? I marched in a parade also on the llth. The high school band led the parade and left the WWII and Korean (that's me) behind. We should have had a old decrepit vet leading it. It is the first one I have participated in, and it has been 47 years. Hillyer Re: Dianne > Some of us had Monday off but we did our parades and services on > Sunday the 11th.
