Guest guest
Hi a, I didn't have chemo so can't comment on liver enzymes and chemo, but I have had elevated liver enzymes from other medications - Lipitor for one. They stopped the Lipitor. I think that anything like chemo has to process through the liver and can cause elevated enzymes. Where's Anne - she should have the answer here. Or Ellen? Guest guest
Hi a, I too had elevated liver enzymes during chemo, specifically the Taxol. After initially working myself into a frenzy about possible mets, I researched side effects on the drug company's website and approx. 20% will have elevated liver enzymes as a side effect. My oncologist confirmed this at my next visit and told me that the levels should go back to normal after chemo. After hearing from other women as well, I learned that elevated enzymes are not that uncommon. Take care, Janet B. > > Has anyone had quite high liver enzymes on their blood work during > chemo? Guest guest
Hi a, I second this. It also happened to me. After I was done with chemo, they went back to normal. Guest guest
Hi I am currently on taxol and have elevated liver enzymes, but I also have a change in my markers, they went from 32 to 51. Is this also a side effect of the taxol? I was asking the nurse but she was unsure and I'm afraid that something else is going on. I know we aren't suppose to put too much weight into the marker test, but it still is distrubing and such a helpless feeling. As always thank you for all the great information and support.
