Guest guest
HI! Will my son's blood level for lead come back very high if the level in his hair was high? What if it is low in the blood? Do I still chelate? I realize with mercury, the test can come back low in the hair and essemtially be hidden in the organs, but what about if there's a discrepancy with lead in terms of high level in hair and low in blood? Guest guest
If the lead is high in hair there might have been past exposure and he might havve lots of lead stored in his bones ect. In this situation I would chelate. If the lead is high in his blood, there might also be current exposure. I would also check your environment (don't miss stripped doors which have previously been painted with lead paint, stripping does not remove the lead) http://www.leadcheck.com/AS-01.html. Dagmar. I have a friend whose child tested high in hair, but low in blood. Because the blood test was low, her doctor refused to chelate him, so she had to do it on her own. Her son did improve with ALA. Blood level indicates current or recent exposure. Hair level indicates overall (retained) burden. > > What if it is low in the blood? Do I still chelate? well, I would, but I'm not you. good wishes, Moria
