Guest guest Posted October 26, 2004 Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 I talked to my lawyer yesterday and he told me that on the liability portion of the lawsuit, we're looking at BIG BUCKS!! I asked him how much the homeowners insurance liability was for and he said he couldn't remember but it was either $500,000 or $1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!! And he got my file from Social Security and they based my disability on the RSD in my hand and not because I'm bipolar and have PTSD! He said there's NO WAY the defense can appeal this..not with having solid proof about my RSD from Social Security! Right now we're waiting to hear from the insurance company's lawyer with a settlement amount and I told my lawyer if this guy says like $25,000, tell him I said to sharpen his pencil and come up with a new amount...I think it's finally starting to sink in that I'm going to be getting as my lawyer said "BIG BUCKS"!! LOL!! He also told me I don't have to get anything from a pain management doctor regarding the extent of the damage because of the proof from Social Security...but I'll get it anyway just to keep everything covered on our end of this...the 2nd portion of the lawsuit has to do with the damage itself..the 1st part is the liability which the owners of the dog are 100% responsible and they can't get out of paying me..I'm not sure how the damage portion of this works but that's why I'm gonna get from a pain doctor the extent of the damage and also the percentage of the loss of use...I'm hoping that sometime real soon I'll be getting some of this money from the lawsuit cause I could sure use it!! First thing I am gonna do is get myself a car..right now the truck gets 8mpg and is a real pig on gas..I think I wanna get another Jetta.. they go through any weather and they're great on gas..then pay all the bills and then do all the medical stuff and also invest some too for the future....Gee, I'm already planning what I'm gonna do with money I don't have yet...my lawyer did tell me yesterday "You know I'm getting 1/3 of this lawsuit? We're talking BIG BUCKS here" and I said to him "Well Joe, you better start talking to me and telling what's going on or else I'm not gonna give you your third of this...I'll make you beg for it!" I said that cause he didn't call me to tell me about Social Security's ruling regarding my disability and what they based it on...oh well, I'm starting to ramble here so I'm gonna stop...I just thought I'd fill you all in on what's going on with my case...I wish I'd be getting BILLIONS cause then I'd help all of you out....
