MORE IMPORTANT INFO, IN ADDITION TO WHAT AASE MARIT SAID, ABOUT DISCOUNTS FOR

TRAVEL TO THE CONFERENCE.................

Hi All

Aase Marit has some GREAT ideas in her email as always! (if you missed it, I

put a copy of it, at the end of this email).

I just wanted to let EVERYONE know that the Buffalo group is working very

hard on EVERYTHING & making some arrangements with airlines, etc., to obtain

discounts on airfares. Info should be in the next issue of Loose Connections,

due

out very, very soon. So, if you can, please wait for Loose Connections. The

reason is, just like we always make our own reservations directly with the

hotels, but we have to give them special identifying information and/or a number

when we make them so that they know it's OUR organization, we would be doing

the same exact thing with the airlines.

So, unless you get things like Aase Marit did on a local level for FREE,

please know that we are in negotiations right now! And, as she said, often

philanthropic organizations that are local specifically to YOU (your town, etc.)

are

often the best places to try. If you do that, I was given a great tip on one

of the best ways to ask. I was told that groups tend to be more willing to

give, if they are doing it for a child.

As said, Aase Marit's ideas are fabulous! And, if you have any other ideas,

PLEASE LET ME KNOW, so that I can check on these ideas as well, to see how

much help we can all get!

Thanks to our EDS family, we can make miracles happen! Looking forward to

hearing any more ideas out there. Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Love you all, happy & healthy travels to all,....... See you in Buffalo!

Hi Debbi,

That is sooooo GREAT!!!!! I can't wait to see you!!!! :)

The first time I went, I had no chance of going out of my own pocket.

I called the airline. I had some frequent flyer points, but not

enough. I told them what I was going to and why and they gave me the

ticket for the points I had anyway!!! I am mentioning it here now,

because maybe it can be an option for others.

I also wrote letters to the co. I had my knee braces from and some

other medical companies, i.e. companies I had drugs from and a

bandaid company I had had contact with through the pso.assoc. I

called them first and talked to somebody, and they asked me to send a

letter.

The bandaid company paid my hotel bill. And I got a bit from a drug

company and from the brace company, so I managed with food and things.

I also wrote letters to the Lion's Club and their like. I didn't get

anything, but later I met some from another local chapter that told

me that if I had written to them and I had lived in their part of

this town, they would have gone for it, this was exactly the type of

thing they really liked helping people with, because it helped people

cope in their every day life.

So... I have mentioned this here before, but I do it again thinking

that if some of you out there really, really want to go, but just

can't pull it off financially, it is possible... But you better start

writing letters now....

In the letters I wrote a bit about myself and how I was diagnosed

finally. And how going to the conference would mean a lot to me in

order to learn more about EDS and how to cope with it.

Hi dear and others,

I found a website and had a look at the hotel. I also sent a mail,

asking about their outdoor facilities. I said that I was going to the

conference etc. This mail was to the general place that deals with

questions and such for the whole hotel chain. And they managed to

identify the EDNF conference deal. I was really impressed with that.

I just said that I was going to the EDNF learning conference... Can't

remember if I mentioned that there would be a special rate, but I

don't think so because I wasn't going to make reservations yet anyway.

Deals with airlines???? That sounds interesting... I wonder if that

would work for going all the way from here... That would be so

wonderful, because it is a huge financial lift to go... One year my

ticket was $1,500... That is a lot of money... But I am willing to

do a lot of sacrifices in order to go...

Aase Marit :)
