Guest guest
I had my stress test today. I took my EDS card with me and let the nurses/techs read it as they didn't know anything about EDS - which I kind of figured would happen. I also took a printout of the POTs symptoms I posted a few minutes ago. I have 36 of the symptoms. I starred all the symptons and gave the list to the cardiologist when he came for the actual treadmill test. He took one look at the 2 pages of info, saw all the stars and said, looks like we need to find out if you have this or not. I'll set up a tilt table test for you with the doc that does them in Milwaukee. He started talking about meds for POTS and I've tried several he had mentioned for my mitral valve prolapse and had reactions to them. I just want to know if I DO have POTs so I can be proactive in my care...<G> The worst thing about the stress test was getting the IV in. I asked for novacaine first and the tech had to go find the IV nurse. I'm really glad I had the IV nurse and the novacaine. I helped a lot! I did have some burning pain after the treadmill test when they were doing the 2nd scan, which I told the tech after the scan was done. She went to find a nurse, they put me in a w/c and took me to a monitoring room. They also called the cardiologist. He doesn't think it's anything to do with my heart as there were no changes on the EKG during the treadmill test. I came home, took Mylanta, in case it was gas pressure, but I have not been burping after taking the Mylanta. The burning pain was about a 2-3 on a scale of 0-10. Anyone else have this type of burning pain? I know I've had it recently in the past and it hasn't gone away with Mylanta.... Another case of an MD not listening to me?
