Guest guest
I just about fell over today. The Endo called me to set up a sleep test at the Hospital! I don't have insurance, nor do I need this test. Then my Dr's nurse called me to just be nasty to me because I refused to go. I couldn't believe my ears!! She told me that Dr. Heavener is NOT going to give me any T3, period. She then made a remark to me that we would all like to pop some speed to get our housework done! SPEED??? I just want to be normal! I guess I will be looking for a new Dr., and probably self medicating myself. I got so upset with the nurse on the phone that I told her that I am not paying Thousands of dollars for a sleep test that I don't need, so I will just have to take things into my own hands. She told me that I might end up in cardiac arrest!! I would have went to my Dr. everyday if he wanted me to, to monitor me. But, NO, they think they are so right and we are so wrong! I am sooooooooooooooooooo upset. Now, where can I buy some Armour?? Sounds like everyone is having trouble getting it. :-(( Kathy Re: Cindi In a message dated 11/30/2004 8:54:18 AM Eastern Standard Time, Wvyorkies@... writes: > I seen my Dr. the other day and told him that I know many that are doing so > much better on Armour, but my test showed that I am in a good rage, even > though I am soooooooo fatigued, very poor concentration, memory loss, ache, cold > nose, fingers tremble, etc., so he will not switch me. Good rage? lol. so okay...obviously he thinks because your TSH is in range, you must be feeling just fine So it's time to find a new doctor who listens to his patient instead of worshipping lab numbers. Your lab number may be fine, but obviously you're not. You can either continue to feel bad or find a doctor who will give you enough Armour to get rid of your hypo symptoms or you can self-medicate. The choice is yours. Don't let your health be the choice of your current doctor. Being undermedicated can cause you LONG TERM health problems. Guest guest
Kathy, these are the things that bring us to self medicate. Sorry your dr is being such a nu-nu (don't ask me what that means cuz I can't remember, but it's similar to a butthead) just nicer. lol. I had an endo tell me that there was 'no need for anything like T3' but we all know that is horse pucky. I would love to see every Endo who is so indignant and thinks we are just looking for a drug to take would come down with hypothyroidism. And for those that aren't hypo, I'd love for them to get hyperthyroidism that resulted in hypoT! I used to never wish this disease on anybody, but my views are changing the older I get. Dr's just don't understand what it's like to have to literally 'not be able to do simple things' and this disease does that and so much more! SandyE~Houston Re: Doctors!! But hey wait a minute....if doctors with thyroid problems can't get Armour...what's that mean for the rest of us? We need it too! Just we careful what you wish for...you just might get it! I get a real bee in my bonnet when dr's tell people that RAI is going to 'cure' them, and unsuspecting people fall for it, cuz the dr's know best. I'd LOVE to see ALL or most doctors go hypoT & have to figure out what's wrong & how to fix it & discover T3 or natural thyroid instead of synthetics is the answer. They or a close family beloved family member would have to have it in order to experience the problem & deal with it themselves. It's the only way, IMO. Guest guest
What is the matter with doctors who think that speed or cocaine or other such drugs are the same as natural hormones???? I just don't get it. They aren't doctors at all if you ask me. They're whacko nut cases, IMO. Which reminds me of a space-case psychiatrist I once had....but that's another story. Caroline Re: Doctors!! similar thing happened to me a few years ago and is documented in this group's files. In my case it was the doctor who told me that I would also feel better on speed (after I had told him that I felt better on thyroid meds) Lynda (in the UK)
Guest guest
Ya know, I've never published anything at all, but I seriously feel like going to my local newspaper and seeing if they would accept an article about the cavalier attitudes of modern day doctors and how stupid they are, but how stupid they actually think their patients are to swallow this type of hogwash. I say newspaper because that is such an immediate one, without having to publish a book. Let them sue the heck out of me. What would they get in a court of law? An apology or retraction? No way! Money? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Can't get blood out of a turnip, which of course is an antithyroid, pun intended. The name of the article would be something like " Stupid things doctors say to their patients " . One reason is that I KNOW that our local doctors read the papers, and I would be grinning all the way to work, IF I even had a job when I got there, hehe. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I had to drag myself to work today. I clean houses with my sister, but I have recently given up many of them due to lack of energy. I am just amazed at the responses from my email, many of you have had similar things said to you. This is the first time that this has happened to me. What in the world gives them the right to talk to us that way? , I wish you would do an article on " Stupid things that Dr's say . . . . " . I'm sure everyone on this list can give you more then enough material for it!! They must be worried about JOB SECURITY!!! LOL Pretty soon, no one is going to trust any Doctors! I know I will do my homework and FIRST treat myself whenever possible. My son has a friend who's wife is a nurse, and she was in shock when I told her what the nurse said to me. I went to her house last night and she was looking up a lot of info for me. I think she knows more then my Dr. ever did! Thanks for all the support!!
