Guest guest
I saw my rheumolotogist today and she feels this is MS. I don't know. My MRI was negative but the person who gave me the gadolinium injection for contrast was new at her job. She basically made a tournaquit with the bandage and I ended up with a huge lump of the stuff just above my elbow. I had to keep my arm bent in the tube, no room to move!! So, I wonder now whether or not any contrast got through and are they basing a negative mri on that and is it true?? In order for the contrast to get thru--the torniquet has to be released. They didn't get much in the way of contrast-- talk to Rheumi, and tell her what happened, and insist that they redo the scan--without charge! BTW--I had the same thing happen, and UC did redo the scan--and no, they didn't charge me or my insurance. (Although with this being the first of the year--it might be good to get it to go towards the deductible and then the hospital can write it off.) Have they done a spinal tap? If you have MS-- there are specific bands that show up in the fluid that NS does not have. Also, MS has demylination that shows up on the scans, that may not be there for NS. The other thing is that NS attacks the base of the brain--where MS attacks other areas. So these are important--and need to be done- correctly.
