Guest guest
Did you have any type of anesthesia for the delivery? I know I had hair loss after WLS as well as the time intensive plastic surgeries. ~ BabyCopia ~ Unique and Original Baby Products ~ Preggie Pops Now Available! ~ www.babycopia.com Postpartum Hair Loss Hi All, I hope everyone is well out there. I haven't had time to post or even read posts for quite a while. Camille keeps me on my toes! I had a question about Postpartum Hair Loss. Camille is almost 4 months old. I got my hair cut about a month ago, and my hair is just falling out. Just like how is fell out 3-6 months after my surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!! Guest guest
Shew!!! It is SOOOO nice to hear that someone else is experiencing this! My daughter was born 2/25/03 and just like you my hair is falling out like I am 3-6 months post op. It is TERRIBLE! I can run my hands through it and get hair...my drain after I shower always has hair in it...my daughter will pull my hair (ugh I don't like this stage) and she will have hair between her fingers. I was contemplating upping my vitamins..I thought maybe I was deficient somewhere... Guest guest
My understanding is that it is very common to lose hair after pregnancy regardless of whether or not you have had WLS. If I recall correctly, breastfeeding can help prevent that because your body is keeping the nutrients for the baby yet....ultimately keeping your body pregnant. (yes I know that doesn't make sense) Just something to keep in mind. Becky S > Hi All, > > I hope everyone is well out there. I haven't had time to post or even read > posts for quite a while. Guest guest
> does continuing to take pre-natals after delivery help with the hair loss??? > > Sheila F. from my understanding, hair loss due to telogen effluvium doesn't respond to anything but time. Of course, healthy eating habits, good nutrition and vitamins couldn't hurt anything. sheila
Guest guest
I had hair loss after the birth of my son 3 1/2 years ago. I had my RNY on Jan 22 of this year. My postpartum hairloss seemed worse than my post-op hairloss. I'm sure you didn't want to hear that though I had a c-sec with him so don't know if that made a difference in the amount of hair loss or not.
