Guest guest
HI, I actually have apparently been taking too much B12, that my surgeon took me off. My levels were almost double what they were supposed to be!! The dietician said that too much B12 could mask low folate. I told her that I take a sublingual everyday on top of my other vitamins. I had been taking a prenatal and 2 Flinstones per day plus vitamin C and the B12, now just vitamin C and the prenatal. We'll see how my blood work comes back after decreasing all the vitamins. I don't eat real well, so I was trying to supplement my food with vitamins. Anyway, my point was that I was not getting shots and not eating very well, so I must have been getting " too much " from my vitamins and absorbing it very well. Guest guest
That's what's so great about the SL B12. My Dr says more of it is absorbed more quickly SL (than with a pill in the stomach). Sheila

Guest guest
Kim, I didn't take a pill for the B12, it was a sublingual (under the tongue). I wish that it would have sped up my weight loss, but I have been at a 5 lb stand still since March. Although I have gone from a size 16 to a 12 even though no weight loss. Thanks for the input though. Carmen TTC #3 open RNY 1/02 341/178/??

Guest guest
" I was also told before my WLS that I would not be able to absorb B12 using the sublingual pills because they don't stay somewhere long enough. Maybe the stomach? " The sublingual pills go under your tongue and are absorbed from there (buccal cavity). They aren't made to be swallowed and go to your stomach, so more is absorbed. They don't taste bad and are much more pleasant than a shot (I HATE NEEDLES!!!) Sheila

Guest guest
Dear Shellie, Thank you for your information regarding B12. I already take Trinsicon everyday. Trinsicon is a prescription supplement containing iron, intrinsic stomach factor, B12 and C ( I think.) Furthermore, I take my two B complex supplements a half hour and and hour after taking Trinsicon. I think I should be okay, but I will ask for my B12 levels to be taken during my next blood work. Thanks again, Shoshannah K open proximal roux ny 3/6/01 Mom to A.J. 11/6/95 Mom to Jillian Alise 7/3/03 Wife to since 8/14/94 Rockville, land
