Guest guest
Hi , Depending on the state you're in, she'll be released in accordance with their regulations. For example, in Florida, I was released from the hospital when my RAI reading was 5 or below. I went in on a Wednesday and left on a Friday. I kept 6 feet away and kept all of the precautions you list below for 7 days (more like 10 days with my daughter and dog). I hope this helps, Mabel frustrated Hi everyone, I'm feeling a little frustrated because 's Nuclear Med dr. said she should stay isolated for 24 hours and then use the 3 foot rule. Is that long enough to come out of isolation? There's so much info on this that I'm beginning to get confused. Here's what he said: (her RAI of 150 millicuries was on 6/26) 1st 24 hours isolation until Fri am (it's Fri eve right now and she's isolated) - doesn't seem long enough Next two days, so Sat and Sun - 3 foot rule Follow this for 3 days: No kissing, don't share items, keep the toilet clean and flush three times (she's been flushing 3 times and wiping the saran wrap I put around the seat down and using gloves in the bathroom) Wash hands thoroughly (she's been using gloves and then throwing them out) Use separate towels and washcloths Then the next 3 days: Sleep in separate beds Shower and change clothes at least daily. Rinsue tub after use. Avoid prolonged close contact with children and pregnant women Avoid close contact with other people in the home. 3 foot rule when possible. (but for how long?) I printed out some post-RAI messages for her to read just now but I think we're both worried, not sure what exactly to do next. She's been in isolation since her treatment at 9AM Thurs morning. Thanks for any insight, C.
