Dr. Stachniw resurfaced my left hip in May 2002. I have only good

things to say about Dr. Stachniw and his staff, and the staff at

Cottage Hospital. He is compassionate & caring, very willing to

answer questions, and, imnsho, as capable a surgeon as any doing

resurfacing. Regarding the devices - BHR is not used in the USA, only

the Cormet and Conserve Plus...

Hope this helps...Earl.

Dr. Stachniw is Superman, no doubt about it and Reva, his nurse in

charge of the Corin study is Wonderwoman!!! I travelled from

Seattle to have both hips resurfaced by him,(about 5 months apart).

You can email me personally if you want info. I had absolutely no

problem with insurance. I had Blue Cross also but Blue Cross of

Illinois (just a coincidence). I think you already got the answer

about BHR, not available in this country. Most people think the

three prothesis' are about comprable.

Dr. Stachniw is uniquely qualified about this whole experience since

he had both his hips resurfaced.
