WOW! That sounds awesome. Can I ask how > debilitating your AFib was? AF was picked up by EKG on an annual flight physical in JAN. Looking back though, for the previous two years there were times that I was really exhausted playing sports. I just though that I was getting old and out of shape. Now I'm pretty sure it was AF. At some point last year the AF had do have become persistent, again because I had the yearly EKG. My nephew has triggers similar to yours. Exercise and alcohol. His episodes are getting more frequent. The internet and this as well as other boards are great ways to educate ones self. What I have learned is that AF begets AF. The longer one is in AF, the more difficult it might be to cure it. Some people are able to control AF with either diet, supplements, rate or rhythm drugs. Others choose a catheter PVA. A very few choose a full blown Maze. Then there's the mini maze. I choose what I thought was best for me, minimally invasive surgery developed and administered by DR Saltman. I had my procedure four months ago, just six months after being diagnosed. I just had my Holter monitor removed a few hours ago and it was AF free. So I am now done with AF except for helping others find a cure as well. Merry Christmas, Dave C.
