working towards a diagnosis

Elodia,

Thanks, I am not usually one for tears. But I wont rule it out completely.

And for all,

The neurologist I selected was a maroon and after telling me to seek

treatment for the spots on my brain MRI from my pulmonologist I resorted to

faxes,… figured a paper trail might prove helpful. Its actually been

hysterical, complete inaccuracies, contradictory statements, denial and

deferment of treatment. Now I have appointments with leading

Neurosarcoidosis specialist out of Mt. Sinai, Dr. Naiiar for a treatment

plan, and I have just been approved for a series diagnostics from a

neuropsychologist to determine if and to what extent of neuro involvement I

have. Also, just today my pulmonologist agreed to draw up the paperwork to

get me in to see Dr Alvin Teirstein, leading sarcoid specialist that was

suggested to me by a member of the group, but I cant remember who (if I

remember I will tell my Dr. about my memory problems, ha ha).

What I am wondering about is the procedures, namely the neuropsychologist

stuff, so far what’s on plate is an interview, 2 hour and half long IQ

tests, a QEEG brain map and a results finding. Since I already had MRI that

showed irregularities that my former neurologist described as “I don’t know

what to make of that”, so I guess what I am getting at is what am I doing

futzing around with IQ tests when there are blurbs on my brain MRI? Does

anyone have any pointers or ideas?

Again any input is invaluable at this point.

Louis
