Guest guest
WELCOME TO THE LIST MEREDITH!!!! We will try to help you all we can but you've made a great friend in Joya. We don't know where we'd be without her and all her knowledge and articles. Wonderful to have you with us! Kari newbie here. hi all, my name is meredith, and i was referred to this group by a friend from another group i'm on (HI JOYA!!!!!). i've been on atkins for over a month now, and i feel great. i'm going to browse thru the archives and get some background info, but i do have a question...since i've been doing this, there is NO doubt that i am " shrinking " , as all my clothes are looser, but i get on the scale and i am 5 lbs. heavier than i was this summer. i've been going to the gym, doing both cardio and a little weight training, so it it possible that this is muscle gain? otherwise i am just confused. anyway, i'm 26 years old, and lost 50lbs. a few years back on weight watchers...but since i've been with my boyfriend, who can live on 's and Mickey D's, i've put on about 15 of it back. waaah. so here i am. just wanted to introduce myself and say hola. take care all... meredith Please visit our homepage at http://members.xoom.com/AChallengers You will find information, recipes, before and after pictures. Guest guest
Hello Meredith Welcome to the group. A chatty group I may add so if you feel neglected let us know. Sounds like muscle to me. They say measuring is better than weighing so get out a tape. Glad to have you with us Norma

Guest guest
Hi Meredith.....glad to see you joined up so quickly It is hard when your partner loves all that delicious junk food. That is my downfall too. Well, everyone says that muscle weighs more than fat, and that in the beginning of weight training the scale may go up, so don't despair! The important thing is the shrinking inches! My daughter has been stuck at 125 pounds for a couple of months now, but all her new clothes, size 8, no longer fit her and she is a size 6. It aggravates her as she bought a lot of stuff...but that is a good aggravation I say!!! Joya ---------- --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
hey everyone! Thanks so much for everyone's welcomes and well-wishes...i am enjoying reading all the posts, and eventually will remember everyone's names!!!! i've been a crazy-busy girl, and joya knows, by reading my " b*tch and complain " posts about my current job and job hunting!!! does anyone else feel more hungry in the AM than in the PM? i notice that in the mornings i'm pretty hungry, but at night...i often don't even want to EAT dinner (for a girl who is usually food-obsessed, this is a strange phenomenon!) last night it got to the point where i made myself some eggs because its quick and easy, and if i was getting lightheaded from not eating since lunch!!! there's another problem, i'm not that great of a cook.... anyway, i'm currently at 171 lbs., and a size 12. i'm 5'7 or so and have a large frame, so i know i'm not going to be itty-bitty ever. i'd like to lose about 15 or so. so here's hoping! thanks so much, its great to join another online family. take care, mer
Guest guest
Welcome Meredith... I find that i am the opposite. Guest guest
Well, I would say being hungry in the morning is a good thing since you don't want to eat too much at night...what is that saying? Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper? Have you had low carb shakes? They do have vitamins and all and are good for when you don't want to eat. As for not cooking...there are lots of easy recipes on Atkins! You will get plenty of ideas here. Joya ---------- --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
